2017 Westminster Workshop for Public Accounts Committees & the Commonwealth Association of Public Accounts Committees (CAPAC)
4-7 December 2017
Westminster Workshop on PACs 4-6 December
CPA UK's series of capacity building Westminster Workshops have explored the role of parliamentarians and parliamentary Public Accounts Committees (PACs) in financial oversight, providing practical training and knowledge to Commonwealth PACs.
CPA UK will host the 2017 Westminster Workshop for Chairs and Members of Public Accounts Committees from 4 - 6 December 2017, developed and delivered in partnership with the UK Public Accounts Committee.
After the agreement of the 2015 Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA), parliamentarians and policymakers nationally and internationally are becoming increasingly focused on strengthening tax policies and frameworks as a key means of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Following the Global Tax Transparency Summit hosted by the UK Public Accounts Committee in December 2016, the 2017 Westminster Workshop will continue the momentum of Summit and the AAAA, furthering the role of parliamentarians in the promotion of tax transparency and the prevention of tax avoidance. The skills-based Workshop will take place over three days, offering practical, interactive sessions to build the capacity of participating Chairs, Members and Clerks of Commonwealth Public Accounts Committees.
CAPAC 7 December 2017

CPA UK has supported the establishment of the Association throughout its initial formation period and has run the CAPAC Coordinating Unit (CCU) until January 2016. Currently, the CCU is kindly hosted by the Parliament of Malta.
