A series of workshops on modern slavery, which brought together around 70 parliamentarians from 13 countries, has seen a significant increase in understanding and a greater commitment to combating human trafficking and exploitation from legislators.

The Modern Slavery Project Legislative Drafting Seminar will facilitate high level sharing of expertise and best practice between parliamentarians, clerks/officials, legislative drafters and legal experts from across the Commonwealth and beyond. The aim of the Modern Slavery Project Legislative Drafting Seminar is to provide Members of Parliament, relevant clerks/parliamentary officials and legislative drafters practical advice and support in relation to the development, drafting and enactment of legislation, tailored to meet the varying needs of respective legislatures.
