Election Observation Mission presents preliminary report on Turks and Caicos Islands General Election

The Election Observation Mission to the Turks and Caicos Islands, run by the British Islands and Mediterranean Region of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, has published its preliminary report on the General Elections of 15th December 2016. The voting and counting process was assessed positively by observers in all polling stations visited. The polling officials acted professionally, and appeared to be dedicated to their public service. The observers have produced some initial observations and recommendations to try and make the process more efficient for future elections. Further such recommendations will be set out in the Mission’s final report, to be published within two months.
