Call for submissions on the effectiveness of legislation protecting women from violence across the Commonwealth
Published 25 January 2021
The Women in Parliament priority theme of CPA UK is undertaking research, as part of CPA UK’s new democracy strengthening project funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
This research will focus on how effectively women across the Commonwealth are protected by legislation in their respective jurisdictions from all forms of violence, including online harms. The aim of the research is to provide recommendations for effective legislation and implementation, towards both strengthening democracy and addressing violence against women across the Commonwealth.
In order to inform our work on this topic, and shape our recommendations for model legislation and implementation, CPA UK wishes to secure the expert views and inputs of the different stakeholders involved with eliminating violence against women in the Commonwealth, including civil society organisations, non-governmental organisations, as well as members of academia.
