The Parliament of Malta hosted the 2024 British Islands and Mediterranean Region Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Conference.

The conference focused on tackling gender inequality, empowering women and girls, increasing women’s representation in elected bodies, advocating for gender sensitive parliaments and marking International Women’s Day.

The Conference is held periodically, bringing together representatives of the CWP network from parliaments in our region. Along with CPA UK, the other branches that make up CPA British Islands and Mediterranean Region (BIMR) are Alderney, Cyprus, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Malta, Northern Ireland, Scotland, St Helena and Wales.
