Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK Branch Annual General Meeting and Executive Committee Election

The CPA UK AGM was held at 1530 on Wednesday 16 October in the CPA UK Room, Westminster Hall.

The CPA UK’s Co-President, Mr Speaker, Rt Hon. Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP chaired the meeting.

At this AGM a new 20-member Executive Committee to steer the CPA UK for the duration of this parliament has elected.

As the Executive Committee represents the make-up and funding proportions of the two Houses the following slots were available:

• House of Commons: 9 Labour members, 3 Conservative members, 1 Liberal Democrat member and 1 other member.
• House of Lords: 2 Labour peers, 2 Conservative peers, 1 Cross Bench peer and 1 Other peer.

Every member of the Branch shall be eligible for election to the Executive Committee on the nomination of a single proposer who shall give written notice of the nomination together with the nominee’s consent, to the Secretary seven clear days prior to the Annual General Meeting.
