Guernsey Election Expert Mission

A General Election will be held in Guernsey on Wednesday 7 October 2020. CPA UK, on behalf of CPA British Islands and Mediterranean Region (BIMR) is conducting an Election Expert Mission (EOM) to the Guernsey General Election over the period 28 September – 9 October 2020.
This is the first CPA BIMR international Election Expert Mission (EEM) to Guernsey and the second to a Crown Dependency following the Election Observation Mission to Jersey in May 2018. Since 2011, CPA BIMR has also conducted observation missions to the British Virgin Islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Anguilla and the UK.
After conducting the first ever virtual EEM to Anguilla in June 2020, the Mission to Guernsey will also be a virtual Mission. Meetings with relevant stakeholders in Guernsey will take place via virtual meeting platforms.
The team consists of:

- Anne Marlborough, Legal/Political Analyst (Ireland)
- John Ault, Electoral/Campaign Analyst (UK)
- Fleur ten Hacken, CPA BIMR Election Coordinator (the Netherlands)
- Jessica Onion, CPA BIMR Election Administrator (UK)
Head of Mission, Jim Wells MLA has said:

Election observation is a vital element of CPA BIMR’s commitment to enhance openness and transparency in parliamentary democracy across the Commonwealth.
