From 27 - 29 February 2024, CPA UK in partnership with the Parliament of Trinidad & Tobago, hosted a regional workshop on the work of Public Accounts Committees and parliamentary trade scrutiny. 

Bringing together committee Chairs, Members and clerks, this workshop facilitated peer-to-peer discussions on how to enhance effective scrutiny of government spending and trade policy. Delegates discussed the challenges to parliamentary oversight and techniques for holding effective committee inquiries. Participants also had the opportunity to strengthen their networks and build their contacts in the areas of public financial scrutiny and trade, in the UK and the Caribbean.
